Hitachi Europe, Ltd. has announced the appointment of Andrew Barr as the President of Hitachi Europe, Ltd. The new appointment will take effect from 1st April 2023.

Andrew Barr, currently the Group Chief Executive Officer (Group CEO) of Hitachi Rail, Ltd., has dedicated almost 20 years of his career at Hitachi, spearheading the growth of the Rail business in Europe and globally.

With his in-depth knowledge of Hitachi and his mobility sector experience, Andrew Barr will lead Hitachi Europe’s business in this newly created role at a broader level, as it continues to grow and seek further business opportunities across the region.

Andrew Barr will remain as Executive Officer and Vice President of Hitachi, Ltd., working globally to help Hitachi achieve synergies across the business and become a major player in Social Innovation and Environment.

Andrew Barr is succeeded in his previous role at Hitachi Rail by Giuseppe Marino as the Group Chief Executive Officer (Group CEO).
