Climaventa water chiller
Mitie Technical Facilities Management (Mitie), the globally renowned facilities management and HVAC equipment servicing firm, had been called upon to assist with the technical issues related to the Climaventa water chiller that serves Air Handling Units (AHUs) within the McCormick factory.
The Climaventa water chiller had not functioned correctly for some time now. However, with the constant hot weather over the summer months, it made the working conditions rather uncomfortable for factory workers and staff.
Adcock engineers also changed the pressurization unit and strainer
Water circulation pump Repair
Following a survey undertaken to gauge the problem, Adcock (Adcock Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Ltd) engineers quickly identified the faults and carried out the replacement of a large 7 kilowatt water circulation pump and pipework manifold, along with the pump relays and contactor.
Adcock engineers also changed the pressurization unit and strainer. Finally, the refrigeration circuits were pressure tested, the leaks repaired, PRVs replaced and the system re-commissioned for use.
An Adcock engineer who carried out the repair work stated that their fast approach and vast knowledge and experience of working with water chillers led to the system operating efficiently again, as they were able to maintain the correct temperature within the factory.
