PARAT Halvorsen AS will supply their 12MW 10kV, High Voltage Electrode Boiler for hot water with a control cabinet and control system to the Danish district heating company - Glamsbjerg- Haarby Varmeværk.
The IEH High Voltage Electrode Boiler for hot water is used for district heating and Primary Grid regulation. The 12MW Electrode Boiler has a design temperature of 168°C and a design pressure of 6.5 Barg. The Electrode Boiler is designed for zero-load and has already been installed and started up in the summer of 2022.

Glamsbjerg-Haarby Varmeværk
Glamsbjerg-Haarby Varmeværk produces and supplies hot water to all households connected to the district heating network in Glamsbjerg and Haarby, in Denmark. From the summer of 2022, the heat production will be supplemented by the surplus power that often appears as a condition for solar and wind energy.
The electricity market has traditionally paid for e.g., wind turbine owners to stop wind turbines or the Norwegian electricity companies to pump water back into reservoirs, but the excess flow is available on the electricity market as ‘grid regulation’ and can be used directly in the new electrode boiler that can react quickly in short intensive intervals, because it is combined with the possibility to store the hot water for district heating.
