A new residential development of 22 private family homes in County Meath, Dublin, Ireland, has been installed with Panasonic Aquarea 7kW Monobloc Air-to-Water heat pumps, in order to provide energy efficient heating and hot water.

North City builders and installers - MOS Mechanical, wanted to ensure the heating system was of good quality, compliant with the latest regulations, and delivered on reliability, long-term sustainability, and cost savings for the new homeowners.

5kW Aquarea monobloc unit in every home

An Chrannog in Ratoath, County Meath consists of a mix of high-quality bespoke detached, semi-detached and terraced family homes with all dwellings having radiators throughout.

Each terraced property has a 5kW Aquarea monobloc unit, with the detached and semi-detached homes each having the Panasonic Aquarea 7kW Monobloc Air-to-Water heat pump.

All properties fitted with Panasonic Aquarea 200 liter cylinder

All the homes also have access to the Panasonic Aquarea Smart Cloud and Service Cloud technology

All properties were fitted with a Panasonic Aquarea 200 liter cylinder with a 70 liter buffer tank for hot water supply. All the homes also have access to the Panasonic Aquarea Smart Cloud and Service Cloud technology.

Mick O’Shea, the Managing Director of MOS Mechanical, said “We have been installing Panasonic Aquarea since 2013 and have found them to be reliable, highly energy efficient, and an excellent choice for such developments.

Compliance with the Irish Part L building regulations

He adds, “The units are compact and because all the refrigerant and pipe work is housed outside within the unit, are A2 rated. They exceed the required criteria to be compliant with the Irish Part L building regulations.

MOS Mechanical is an accredited Panasonic Elite Pro Partner with 35 full-time staff plus further 40-50 contractors trained to install the Panasonic units, either directly through Panasonic or through local distributor, Heat Merchants, which means that the team can pass on a 7-year warranty to their customers.

Access to the Panasonic PRO Club and online portal

Mick O’Shea adds, “The 7-year warranty is a real deal maker for us – I believe this highlights the quality of the units, and the belief from the manufacturer in the units to be able to offer this. The team also has access to the Panasonic PRO Club and online portal, where we can access all the installation guides and manuals, plus the design software and running cost analysis tools to help show developers and end users where and how the units will function.

7kW Aquarea Mono-Bloc heat pump

The 7kW Aquarea Mono-Bloc heat pump installed is specifically designed for high performance requirements

The 7kW Aquarea Mono-Bloc heat pump installed in this new development is specifically designed for high performance requirements. It is simple to install not only for new builds, but also retrofit projects, as it can be connected to radiators, as well as under-floor heating systems or fan units.

The heat pump has an A+++ energy class rating (average climate at 35°C), and works in temperatures as low as -20 °C. This minimizes carbon emissions, while maintaining occupant comfort.

Panasonic Aquarea Smart Cloud and Service Cloud app

All the homes have access to connect to the Panasonic Aquarea Smart Cloud and Service Cloud app. Walter Stephens, Air-to-Water Specialist for Panasonic explains, “I believe that the Smart Cloud app is a revelation to the industry, it is free to download and allows homeowners to easily connect, monitor and keep check of their running costs in real time, to see where they can save on those essential energy and running costs.

The Aquarea Service Cloud app is for installers, the app monitors the unit’s performance and can pre-empt and interpret any issues and pass this information onto the installers and sometime before an issue even arises.
