The second unit using China’s home-grown third-generation nuclear power technology 'HPR1000' has begun generating electricity. The major parts of the unit were developed by DEC.

The 1,161 MW unit in the city of Fuqing, East China’s Fujian province, is expected to generate nearly 10 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, equivalent to a reduction of 3.12 million tons of standard coal consumption and 8.16 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
