As part of Xylem’s efforts to prioritize efficiency and connectivity, the company has made enhancements to its optimyze™ modular condition monitoring solution, including the addition of a new pressure monitoring feature to complement the existing vibration and temperature monitors.

The optimyze package, which can be added to Bell & Gossett pumps, has simple-to-use smart features that utilize predictive analysis to identify potential equipment problems before they occur.

precision-designed technology

Highly sensitive optimyze technology is precision-designed to detect changes in vibration, temperature, and pressure across a range of fixed and rotating assets.

Optimyze sensors, through periodic tracking and reporting, allow everyday users to access simple-to-use monitoring tools to measure equipment health using the intuitive optimyze mobile application.

Preventive maintenance

Preventive maintenance is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of pumps and motors, and digital tools like optimyze can help maximize HVAC system performance,” said Derrick Oberdorf, Product Line Manager, Intelligent Solutions, Xylem.

He adds, “The new optimyzeBluetooth® Pressure Sensor leverages condition monitoring technology to detect system issues early, sending automatic alerts to building owners and operators, so they can adjust equipment settings or operating parameters as needed."

Bluetooth-connected Gateway

The Bluetooth-enabled pressure sensors are installed in the piping and are available in three versions

Derrick Oberdorf adds, "Through the Bluetooth-connected Gateway, receiving remote data and actionable insights on Xylem’s Avensor application also helps reduce the need for physical inspections, site visits, and manual interventions, saving time, money, and resources.”

The new optimyze Pressure Sensor measures differential pressure, which can indicate potential equipment failure. The Bluetooth-enabled pressure sensors are installed in the piping and are available in three versions for pressure ranges from 0-100 psi, 0-250 psi, and 0-500 psi.

Key features and benefits of the enhanced optimyze

  • Condition monitoring of mechanical and electrical assets enabling predictive maintenance.
  • Asset management including asset location, maintenance logs, size, manufacturing date, and reminders.
  • Asset health transparency to optimize reliability.
  • Optimized reporting helps to simplify documentation, manage system maintenance, and inform purchasing.
  • The ability to automatically share data with multiple local users.
  • True remote monitoring via the Bluetooth-connected optimyze Gateway.
  • Remote monitoring through the optimyze mobile application or Avensor Smart MonitoringWeb application.
