Danish Prime Minister - Mette Frederiksen visited Danfoss’ headquarters to see how existing technologies have significantly reduced energy consumption and emissions. Danfoss CEO - Kim Fausing had the pleasure of hosting the Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen.
The aim of the visit was to see with her own eyes how existing technologies can reduce energy consumption and emissions significantly in a time of rising energy prices and instability in energy supply.
Achieve CO2 neutrality
Kim Fausing also talked about the potential of district heating, which is not widespread in the EU
During the guided tour through Danfoss' headquarters, Kim Fausing told the Prime Minister how Danfoss will achieve CO2 neutrality at its headquarters before the end of the year using energy-efficient solutions. Kim Fausing also talked about the potential of district heating, which is not widespread in the EU.
District heating can cover up to 50 percent of the EU's heat demand and make the EU less dependent on coal and gas. District heating also paves the way for a CO2-neutral heating sector. Kim Fausing explained how excess heat and renewable energy can push fossil fuels out of the heating network using heat pumps.
Green transition
After the meeting Kim Fausing said: “It is imperative that everyone knows that Danish companies like Danfoss have the solutions that are needed if we want to phase out fossil fuels and ensure the green transition.”
Kim Fausing adds, “We have the technology to make Denmark’s and the EU’s heat supply green. We can do this through district heating, heat pumps, electrification, and energy efficiency. That is why I am super excited to welcome the Prime Minister today.”
Energy-efficient and reliable solutions
The Prime Minister later visited the Refrigeration A/C Controls production site and greeted colleagues from production. Danfoss produces a wide range of energy-efficient and reliable solutions for cooling systems. Danfoss' cooling solutions are used, among other things, for food, where they keep food fresh and help avoid waste by means of smart functions that automatically regulate temperature and warn of potential failures.
The Mayor of Sønderborg, Erik Lauritzen also participated in the visit and presented ProjectZero and the municipality’s ambition to become CO2-neutral by 2029. The visit to Danfoss was closed with a short doorstep press conference in Nordborg.
