Mitsubishi Electric has launched the all-new MSZ-RZ R290 – the latest addition to the M Series range. The new unit is a premium wall-mounted air inverter heat pump system, which delivers efficient heating and cooling all year round.

The MSZ-RZ R290 uses R290, a natural refrigerant with an ultra-low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 0.02, to help homeowners reduce their carbon footprint. It also helps small commercial buildings to future-proof against evolving F-Gas regulations, while keeping occupants comfortable through changing seasons.

Wi-Fi and intuitive MELCloud app

The technology can also be seamlessly operated by homeowners via built-in Wi-Fi app

The unit will be available in two sizes – 2.5 kW and 3.5 kW – to provide a perfect solution for both residential and light commercial spaces. At just 247 mm deep, the unit’s slim profile can fit into even the most space-constrained rooms, from homes to cafes and offices, and with noise levels as low as 19 dBA it helps to maintain comfortable temperature levels, with no disruption.

The technology can also be seamlessly operated by homeowners through built-in Wi-Fi and the intuitive MELCloud app. This enables users to control their cooling and heating remotely from a smartphone or tablet, with live controls, scheduling and energy monitoring for convenient and efficient climate control which can be easily managed with a few buttons.

Best comfort heating and cooling

Jo Lambert, Product Manager for room air conditioning at Mitsubishi Electric, said, "In today’s climate-conscious world, the demand for smarter, greener, and more efficient air conditioning is rising fast."

He adds, "The new MSZ-RZ R290 system meets that demand, and brings together the best comfort heating and cooling to building occupants, while using one of the most eco-friendly refrigerants on the market today. It’s a future-proof solution that meets upcoming F-Gas regulations and sustainability goals."

Rating of A+++ for heating and cooling modes

Sensors also have a ‘Circulator’ mode, which automatically circulates air and eliminates cold spots

The unit also uses advanced 3D i-see sensors to help detect room occupancy, to optimize airflow and temperature and minimize energy when the system isn’t required.

The sensors also have a ‘Circulator’ mode, which automatically circulates air and eliminates cold spots within a room. All of these features together help the unit to achieve an exceptional energy efficiency rating of A+++ for both heating and cooling modes.

Integrated Plasma Quad filtration system

To support air quality, the unit also uses an integrated Plasma Quad filtration system to trap dust, allergens, PM2.5 particles, mould spores, and viruses.

Built-in sensors also provide early leak detection, to ensure homeowners and building occupants have the peace of mind that they can heat and cool spaces safely.
