Danfoss is excited to announce the release of their brand new BIM Tool, a software service solution that empowers their customers and stakeholders to leverage Building Information Modeling (BIM) to enhance project efficiency and collaboration.

BIM is digitalizing the way buildings and HVAC projects are designed, constructed, and operated. It enables users to create virtual models that contain all the essential data about a building, from architectural plans to mechanical systems.

benefits for professionals

By integrating BIM Tool into their workflows, HVAC professionals can unlock a range of benefits, including:

  • Streamlined Collaboration: Utilizing the latest Danfoss BIM models enhances communication and coordination among teams and stakeholders.
  • Improved Efficiency: Accurate Danfoss BIM models automate design tasks and streamline project planning, causing significant time and cost savings.
  • Informed Decision-Making: Access to product data enhances building performance analysis, enabling optimized energy consumption and informed decision-making.
  • Risk Reduction: Leveraging digital twins of products identifies issues early, minimizing rework and construction delays.

Cooperation with BIM experts

Danfoss also included popular 'assembly products' BIM files, such as control valves and actuators merged

Developed in cooperation with some expert customers, the Danfoss BIM Tool has been refined through extensive beta testing.

It contains a majority of our Hydronic HVAC product portfolio and will be expanded regularly. Danfoss also included popular 'assembly products' BIM files, such as control valves and actuators merged into one assembly, to meet the preferences of MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) designers.

BIM Tool offers two convenient ways

Plug-in Solution for Revit Users:

  • Add BIM Tool to Revit environment.
  • Find Danfoss products directly within Revit.
  • Drag and drop products into the BIM project file.
  • Intelligent filters between the BIM tool and Revit.
  • Create a Danfoss bill of quantity with one click.

This can only be used by Revit software (the most commonly used BIM software globally) users.

Stand-alone Solution for all Users:

  • Easily find Danfoss products in the tool.
  • Select the preferred or required version of the product.
  • Download the CAD/BIM file and/or corresponding technical datasheet.

This can be used by anybody, no special software is needed. "We encourage all BIM designers, architects, engineers, contractors, and facility managers to download and use the Danfoss BIM Tool," says Bennie Lam, Danfoss Climate Solutions BIM Manager, adding "Together, we can simplify and improve the quality of HVAC designs with BIM."

Benefits of the Danfoss BIM Tool

  • Comprehensive product library: Includes a majority of Danfoss' product portfolio, ensuring that users can find the products they need.
  • Easy to use: The intuitive user interface makes it easy to find and download BIM files and technical datasheets.
  • Revit integration: The plug-in solution for Revit users provides seamless integration with the most popular BIM software globally.
  • Regular updates: The BIM Tool is updated regularly to include new products and features.
