Danfoss recently celebrated the grand opening of its expanded manufacturing facility in Monterrey, Mexico, responding to the surge in demand for energy-efficient HVAC solutions across both North American and Latin American regions.
The expansion is a key component of the company's LEAP 2030 strategy, which is focused on reducing delivery times and enhancing supply chains for global customers.
New Production Lines Boost Capacity
This substantial investment doubles the factory's production capacity and introduces three new product lines. The expanded facility is set to commence production of sensors, microchannel heat exchangers, large and medium scroll compressors, and semi-hermetic BOCK compressors by early 2026.
These advancements aim to enhance Danfoss Climate Solutions' ability to deliver products faster to its North American market.

The LEED Silver-certified factory now includes a vastly improved compressor laboratory, which has expanded to house two new calorimeters capable of testing up to 175 kW (50 tons). This upgrade supports reliable testing for demanding applications.
Furthermore, four advanced Life-Test systems ensure long-term compressor reliability, while a UL-certified Burst Test system upholds stringent safety standards. The facility is designed to accommodate future advancements, ensuring readiness for next-generation scroll compressors.

The expansion aligns with the 30th anniversary of Danfoss Mexico, marking the fourth enhancement since the site's establishment.
The Monterrey location now employs over 1,400 individuals, with the expansion bringing an additional 300 full-time positions, reinforcing Danfoss' dedication to Mexico as a vital manufacturing center.

On November 5, 2025, Danfoss celebrated the opening of its expanded Monterrey, Mexico factory, a decision driven by increased demand for reliable, energy-efficient HVAC equipment in the North American and Latin American markets.
The expansion is also an important part of Danfoss’ LEAP 2030 strategy, which aims to reduce delivery times and further strengthen supply chains for customers in all markets.
Three new product lines
The multi-million-dollar investment doubles production and adds three new product lines to the current facility. The expanded facility will house the production of sensors, microchannel heat exchangers, large and medium scroll compressors, and semi-hermetic BOCK compressors by the beginning of 2026.
This will allow Danfoss Climate Solutions to better serve North American customers with shorter supply chains.
Ribbon-cutting ceremony
Local officials, including the mayor of Apodaca, Cesar Garza Arredondo, and the Ambassador of Denmark to Mexico, Kim Højlund Christensen, as well as valued customers and dedicated Danfoss employees were present, when Danfoss CEO Kim Fausing and Kristian Strand, Head of Danfoss Climate Solutions, and the rest of Danfoss management, celebrated the milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the factory.
Emmanuel Loo, the acting secretary for economy in the state of Nuevo Leon, gave remarks at the ceremony.
