Women in HVACR (WHVACR), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration trades, is now accepting applications for its prestigious Pillar and Women to Watch awards, which will be announced at the organization’s annual conference in October and in the inaugural edition of its new magazine, respectively.
“As an organization that supports women in a predominately male industry, we always look to find ways to recognize women who go above and beyond the call of duty to help other women,” said Women in WHVACR President, Kristin Gallup, who also serves as Director of Product Management for Carrier Enterprise.
Training goals and improving networking skills
Nominees must be active members of the Women in HVACR organization
Kristin Gallup added: “Our award winners will be chosen based on their merits. We want to know what the nominees have achieved in the HVACR industry, and how they have used their positions to inspire other women to enter the profession, expand their training goals and improve their networking skills.”
Nominations are open now through August 31, and judging will take place in September. Nominees must be active members of the Women in HVACR organization.
Three women for Pillar Awards
Three women will be chosen for the Pillar Awards, each representing one of the following categories:
- Mentor Pillar: The winner of this category must demonstrate mentorship abilities by inspiring and guiding others to achieve success in the HVACR industry.
- Education Pillar: The winner of this category will have contributed to educational initiatives or professional development and continuously promotes learning, training, or education in their workplace.
- Network Pillar: The woman who wins this category will be chosen by how effectively she has built networks or facilitated meaningful connections within the industry. She must also have created areas for growth, collaboration, or advancement for herself and others.
The winners will be named at the WHVACR conference, “Bet on Yourself,” in Las Vegas, October 6-8.
Winners categories
The Women to Watch recognition, entitled “Powering Progress: Influential Women in HVACR for 2025,” will include winners in the following categories:
- Industry Impact: The winner will have demonstrated a significant, measurable contribution to the home services or HVACR industry.
- Innovation & Creativity: The winner will have implemented new practices or solutions that led to efficiency, growth, or enhanced customer satisfaction.
- Leadership & Resilience: The woman who wins this will have a proven ability to successfully navigate and overcome significant challenges.
- Diversity & Inclusion Efforts: The winner of this category must have actively promoted diversity and inclusion in her position at work or in the broader community.
These winners will be announced in the inaugural issue of the organization’s new online magazine, Empowered, which will premiere this fall.
