Trane® Residential (Trane) and American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning® (American Standard), two pioneering providers of home comfort solutions and energy-efficient heating and cooling systems announced the addition of Link Zoning to Trane and American Standard’s award-winning Link product portfolio.

With the new Link Zoning systems, independent Trane and American Standard dealers can provide homeowners with the most advanced and quietest zoning technology, which includes an intelligent duct system that continuously learns where airflow is needed most.

eliminates fluctuations

Link Zoning enhances the Trane and American Standard Link portfolio even more,” said David Lothe, Systems Control Product Manager at Trane Technologies.

Now our dealers can offer customers the ability to personalize and eliminate temperature fluctuations over the course of the day/ Zoning maximizes the efficiency of our Trane and American Standard variable speed HVAC systems and the consistency of their customers’ comfort year-round.”

Link Zoning

Link Zoning equipment is currently compatible with the Link line of Trane and American Standard variable speed units

The new Link Zoning system uses a network of controls, sensors, and motorized dampers for up to six zones to optimize temperature and humidity throughout a home, delivering warm or cool air to only the rooms and zones that need it. Link Zoning equipment is currently compatible with the Link line of Trane and American Standard variable speed units that includes Trane and American Standard XV18 and XV20i systems.

The new zoning systems will exclusively use the new Trane or American Standard Link UX360 Smart Thermostat and SC360 System Controller, available as a kit.

efficient setup and installation

With Link Zoning, Trane and American Standard dealers will experience more efficient setup and installation when using the Trane or American Standard Diagnostics mobile app to connect to Trane or American Standard Link systems, which also allows for faster configuration, more efficient damper testing, and easier troubleshooting.

Link Zoning eliminates the need for an external static pressure transducer, which simplifies the field installation, major cost, and time-saving measures.

New system benefits

The benefits of the new zoning system extend to homeowners as well. Link Zoning offers homeowners precise zone-by-zone control over the temperature and humidity in different areas of their homes, adding to maximum whole-home comfort. Plus, by using the Trane or American Standard Home app, homeowners will have the power to conveniently control each of the zones from the palm of their hand.

Link Zoning will evaluate the priority as well as the temperature error from any set point to minimize the over-conditioning of any one zone. It also provides improved synchronization between the blower speed and damper position, reducing air noise in transient conditions.
