Water and energy efficiency company Cenergist has acquired a specialist Dutch installation company to accelerate its European expansion strategy.

Installatiebedrijf Vriend B.V. (Vriend) has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company and will continue to operate under its name. All values relating to the transaction are undisclosed.

Control Flow HL2024® technology

Based in Emmeloord, Netherlands, Vriend employs eight people and provides installation support across a range of water supply, sewage, roofing, and HVAC technologies.

To increase its customers’ water and energy efficiency, the company uses Cenergist’s Control Flow HL2024® technology. The acquisition represents the latest move in Cenergist’s European growth strategy, which has seen the company appoint Fernando Padmos as its head of the Netherlands.

Cenergists support water companies, local authorities, social housing providers, and commercial clients to improve their energy and water efficiency thereby cutting their carbon emissions. As well as the UK and Holland, Cenergist also operates in Spain and India. 

Following the acquisition, Vriend will focus on making social housing and utilities more sustainable within the Dutch market.
