To keep swine, poultry, cattle and other animals healthy, livestock facility operators must maintain the best possible living environment. Remote monitoring systems provide the most cost-effective way to receive real-time notification of a changing condition that threatens inventory. But livestock facility managers must be sure that the equipment can endure harsh conditions.

That's why Sensaphone has added three new sensors - each in a weatherproof enclosure that protects delicate electronics - for livestock applications. The Sensaphone Outdoor Humidity Sensor is a transmitter to detect humidity levels and can be used with any Sensaphone device that accepts a 4-20mA signal. With a range of 0% to 100% relative humidity level, this sensor causes the monitoring system to trigger an alarm when the humidity exceeds or falls below the set limit.

Outdoor CO2 Sensor

The sensor is mounted in a weatherproof enclosure for operation in severe environments. The Sensaphone Outdoor CO2 Sensor detects levels of carbon dioxide from 0-20,000 ppm. It is ideal for applications where higher levels of CO2 would be expected (>2,000 ppm) such as greenhouses or where areas are constantly occupied such as livestock buildings.

The sensor is enclosed in a weatherproof enclosure, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor environments

When used with any Sensaphone monitoring device that accepts a 4-20mA input signal, the sensor provides real-time CO2 data. When the CO2 level reaches a set threshold, the sensor causes the monitoring device to activate an alarm. The weatherproof enclosure allows users to place the sensor in areas where the environment would typically shorten the life of unprotected sensors.

Dew Point Sensor

The Sensaphone Dew Point Sensor measures and provides real-time dew point values to any Sensaphone device that accepts a 4-20mA signal. When the dew point level falls outside of the programmed high or low limit, users receive an alarm indicating the current dew point value.

The sensor is enclosed in a weatherproof enclosure, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor environments. Users can select from three dew point ranges: -22° to 122°F (-30° to 50°C); -4° to 104°F (-20° to 40°C); or 32° to 122°F (0° to 50°C).
