Ideal Heating has launched a new MCS umbrella scheme to help qualified installers get heat pump-ready — without the cost, complexity or paperwork traditionally associated with BUS-eligible installations.

Ideal InstallPRO – powered by dwellow, offers fully supported access to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, system design and commissioning support, a dedicated project management platform, and a 7-year warranty — all backed by the trusted Ideal Heating name.

MCS umbrella scheme

The scheme gives installers everything they need to start installing heat pumps straight after training, without having to become independently MCS certified.

It’s all managed via a user-friendly app, with real-time guidance and expert support at every step.

Less red tape, more control

Installers stay in full control of their customer relationships, pricing, and materials

Installers stay in full control of their customer relationships, pricing, and materials. The platform includes job estimation tools, branded customer portals, and clear visibility across the whole installation process.

There are no joining fees, subscriptions, or upselling — just one low fee for design and umbrella support services. Ideal’s benefit lies in the supply and successful installation of its products — not in running the scheme itself.

Making low-carbon heating accessible

Ideal InstallPRO represents the next step in our commitment to making low-carbon heating more accessible for installers and customers alike,” said Mark Derbyshire, Managing Director (Sales and Marketing), Groupe Atlantic UK, ROI & NA

He adds, “This isn’t just about simplifying MCS. It’s about making heat pumps viable, practical, and scalable — and ensuring installers have the tools, training and confidence to grow with the market. It’s part of a joined-up approach to decarbonizing UK homes, built on the same foundations that have made Ideal a brand installers trust.”

Built on trusted Ideal support

Ideal InstallPRO is part of a wider investment in low-carbon heating — and builds on the long-standing installer support Ideal is known for, including:

  • Access to Ideal’s Expert Academy, with accredited heat pump training at over 30 UK sites
  • A 7-year warranty on every heat pump installed through the scheme
  • Technical support from dedicated heat pump engineers, available via phone, WhatsApp, video or in person
  • Award-winning service — with Ideal Heating recently rated “Excellent” across all areas by Investor in Customers (IIC), earning the title of A Company That Cares

Hands-on training

Because with Ideal, it’s not just about the product — it’s about the whole experience. Training that’s hands-on, support that’s easy to access, and systems that are made to work in the real world. That’s ideal.

The scheme runs in partnership with dwellow, a specialist in electrification and consumer energy journeys. Their software platform helps installers manage the full lifecycle of BUS-eligible installations — from survey and design to handover and Ofgem paperwork.

Supporting the Shift to low-carbon heating

Ideal Heating has invested over £60 million in heat pump production, training and support — including the launch of a new UK Technology Center, a next-generation domestic apprenticeship program, and participation in the Government’s Heat Pump Investment Accelerator.

Installers must complete an eligible heat pump training course (which can be booked through the Expert Academy) and meet a few simple joining criteria. Once approved, they get access to the app and can begin offering BUS-funded heat pump upgrades to their customers.
