Oliver Hermes, CEO of the Wilo Group, has been unanimously elected to the Executive Board of the German Eastern Business Association (OAOEV). The association promotes the interests of the German economy in 29 countries of Central, East, and Southeast Europe, South Caucasus, and Central Asia.

The Wilo Group has been a member of the association for many years and uses this platform to continually extend its activities in the region. As a matter of fact, Wilo is already represented in all partner countries and Russia is now one of the most important single markets for the Wilo Group.

Belt & Road Initiative

The Wilo Group and the German Eastern Business Association are linked by many years of successful cooperation. For this reason, it is yet another great pleasure to be elected to its Executive Board,” said Oliver Hermes. “The association bundles the expertise within the German economy for the region, which is so important for German companies.”

Reform programmes in the Balkans and projects like the ‘Belt & Road Initiative’ strengthen the economy in Southeast Europe and Central Asia and act as a motor for their integration into world trade. These developments are having an increasingly positive effect on bilateral relationships. Already, the German eastern trade sector accounts for more than a fifth of overall German foreign trade. I am looking forward to intensifying these relationships even more strongly in the future.”

In addition to his activities as a member of the Executive Board of the German Eastern Business Association, Oliver Hermes is also chairman of the German Near and Middle East Association (NUMOV), member of the Advisory Board of the Ruhr Initiative Group, board member in the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV) and, furthermore, member of the Advisory Boards of the Heitkamp & Thumann Group and the Wickeder Group.
