Pure Air Control Services, Inc. announced that its Environmental Diagnostic Laboratory (EDLab) has been accredited by the American Association of Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) to perform biological tests (Certificate #5594.01) on environmental and pharmaceutical samples (including bulk, swabs, wipes, water and liquids). EDLab is equipped, staffed and ready to serve the environmental or RX needs no matter the project scope.

Since 1992 EDLab has provided a high degree of expertise and analysis to indoor environmental and air quality investigations,” said Alan Wozniak, President of Pure Air Control Services, Inc. “We know this A2LA accreditation will add an extra level of confidence for our IAQ professional partners and their customers.”

Testing and calibration laboratories

EDLab is accredited by the New York State Department of Health ELAP (Certificate #12086) for Legionella testing and heterotrophic plate counts. They also participate in the CDC Elite Program for Legionella testing. The A2LA certificate also demonstrates EDLab is accredited in accordance with the recognized International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories while showing a technical competence for a defined scope and the operation of a laboratory quality management system. The EDLab team pursued the A2LA accreditation for the laboratory in order to authenticate the quality system.

It was my pleasure to work with A2LA to obtain this accreditation,” said Dr. Rajiv Sahay, FIAS, CIAQP Director of EDLab, “Standards developed by A2LA for laboratory accreditation are comprehensive and solid in their examination of the laboratory’s quality system. Achieving a certificate through this program is affirmation of scientific methodology and workflow of the laboratory towards sound data production. I am glad to have an accreditation by a credible organization like A2LA, it gives our customers more trust in the laboratory generated data”.
