Ruskin® has relaunched its patented XP500 aluminum extreme weather louver with a new, low-leak flange mounting option. The new flange frame XP500 provides the same high performance as the standard model with easier installation and streamlined shipping. Ruskin XP500 louvers “The new flange frame option for Ruskin XP500 louvers is a direct result of customer feedback,” said Andrew Jones, Product Manager for louvers at Ruskin. He adds, “Designed for direct mounting of the flange to the substrate, the new installation option eliminates the need for – and shipping of – mounting parts like clip angles.” Tested to FEMA 361 standards and ICC500 specifications XP500 delivers superior protection against both large missile impact and class-A wind-driven rain Engineered for unwavering performance, the XP500 is a stationary extreme weather louver with sight-proof blades. Tested to FEMA 361 standards and ICC500 specifications, the XP500 delivers superior protection against both large missile impact and class-A wind-driven rain within a single design. Combined with flange mounting, the XP500 meets the requirements for low leaks, making it ideal for critical environments like data centers and hurricane and tornado shelters. Ruskin® XP500 aluminum extreme weather louver With flange mounting, the XP500 can be attached directly to a wall opening – allowing it to be mounted internally, externally or in conjunction with other louvers with a five-inch-deep frame. A flange-mounted XP500 only requires mounting on two of the four sides, while single units only require mounting on each jamb. Only head and sill mount are offered for multi-section-wide assemblies. The flange-mounted Ruskin® XP500 aluminum extreme weather louver is manufactured in an ISO9001-certified factory and is backed by a five-year limited warranty.
Ruskin is pleased to announce the BTD830 bubble tight isolation damper, the company’s newest addition to its bubble tight product series. The BTD830 is a rectangular bubble tight damper ideal for applications where extremely low leakage is required. The rectangular design offers more free area, lower pressure drops, better airflow compared to round or oval dampers, and is a lower-cost alternative to other bubble tight dampers. BTD830 single-bladed bubble tight isolation damper Standard features include: Rectangular flanges Painted steel channel frame and blade Center-pivoted, double-skin blade with 12ga minimum thickness welded to a full-length axle Stainless steel sleeve bearings bolted to the damper frame Axle seal integrated with the bearing assembly Field replaceable solid silicone blade seal that is mechanically fastened to the blade Polyamide epoxy finish Used in A Wide range of applications The BTD830 is bubble tight according to the AMCA 500-D standard with a maximum velocity of 4,000 FPM Typical applications include biotech labs, food processing operations, industrial process systems, laboratories and nuclear power plants, along with medical, military and pharmaceutical facilities. The BTD830 is bubble tight according to the AMCA 500-D standard with a maximum velocity of 4,000 FPM, a static pressure of 10.0” w.g. (2.5 kPa) and a temperature range of -40°F to 250°F (-40°C to 121°C). Damper sizes Damper sizes range from 6” x 6” (15.2cm x 15.2cm) to 36” x 16” (91.4cm x 40.6cm). The flanged dampers can be mounted for horizontal or vertical airflow, and standard or custom mounting hole configurations are available. Optional features include square flanges, a mil-spec frame or blade (304SS, 304LSS, 316SS, 316LSS) and mil-spec axle (316 SS, 316L SS) or finish (304SS, 304L SS, 316SS, 316L SS). Ruskin can supply and mount actuators and limit switches as needed, including: Manual worm gear with handwheel Direct-mount, commercial grade Electric, quarter-turn rotary (fail in place, battery backup, spring return – 24V, 120V, 230V) Pneumatic, quarter-turn rotary (double acting or spring return) BTD830 damper is fully cycled and tested Each BTD830 damper is fully cycled and tested at the factory prior to shipment, in accordance with AMCA Standard 500-D. Ruskin performs bubble leak testing to 10.0” w.g. (2.5 kPa) before shipment, in order to ensure leakage performance. See the product data specification sheet for pressure drop information, per the AMCA 500-D-18 test standard. The BTD830 is manufactured in an ISO9001 certified factory and comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
Ruskin introduces the TDFi-FA thermal dispersion fan inlet system for fan array applications within commercial HVAC systems. Using highly-accurate thermal dispersion sensing technology, the TDFi-FA measures both airflow rate and temperature and communicates system data to the building automation system (BAS) through analog outputs or communication protocols. This optimizes system performance for greater efficiency while maintaining fresh air ventilation for healthy environments. TDFi-FA thermal dispersion fan inlet system Ensuring healthy indoor ventilation rates, while promoting optimum energy efficiency are top priorities" “Ensuring healthy indoor ventilation rates, while promoting optimum energy efficiency are top priorities,” said John Haukap, Product Manager, Ruskin, adding “You need to monitor airflow to properly manage it. The TDFi-FA provides system engineers the assurance that proper airflow is being delivered throughout occupied spaces.” The compact design of the cantilevered sensor mounts at the fan inlet and serves as a single interface for up to 32 sensors across 16 fans of the same diameter. TDFi-FA features include: Standard cabling and tool-free, one-touch setup that simplifies installation Built-in 1-, 2- or 3-point field calibration using actual airflows BACnet MS/TP, Modbus RTU and analog outputs are standard BACnet International (BTL listed), CE, UL-60730 listed, UL-60335-2-40 compliant, FCC Part 15 compliant Sensor Housing Assembly certified to IP-54 rating criteria per IEC 60529, Ed. 2.2 08/29/2013 The Ruskin TDFi-FA can help satisfy requirements for minimum outside air as required by LEED (USGBC), ASHRAE 62.1, ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 189.1, California Title 24, International Mechanical Code (IMC) and International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
