Allied Air’s Product Manager Scott MacMurdo Explains How Constant Torque Furnaces Work
Scott MacMurdo, Allied Air heating’s product manager shares his views on the benefits of constant torque (X13 blower motor). He explains how it works and why it's a benefit.
Constant torque motor technology creates efficiency benefits comparable to those found in units with variable-speed ECM motors at a far more competitive price point. The biggest benefit from a consumer standpoint is year-round energy savings, since these new Allied Air products can increase overall cooling efficiency by up to two SEER points when applied as part of a complete system.
Some homeowners may also enjoy additional savings through energy-efficiency rebates and other incentives offered by their local utility companies. Along with affordability and energy cost savings, the constant torque motor technology offers quiet operation and improved airflow, even with less-than-optimum duct configurations
