UN Climate Change Conference 2025 (COP 30)

COP30 will take place in Belém, Brazil, from 10 to 21 November 2025, marking the first time a UN Climate Conference is held in the Amazon region.The location highlights the urgency of forest conservation, biodiversity protection, and Indigenous rights in climate policy. 

A central goal of COP30 is to push countries to submit stronger Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) aligned with the 1.5°C Paris Agreement target. Brazil plans to launch the Tropical Forest Forever Facility, a $125 billion fund aimed at financing rainforest protection globally.

Discussions will also focus on improving UN mechanisms for climate accountability and delivering promised climate finance to developing nations.
