“We are grateful to our employee-owners and the Star Tribune for these top workplace recognitions,” said Kirk Langbehn, Senior Director of People Operations at Malco Tools, adding “These honors validate the journey we’re on as a company and team, measuring what we would consider one of the most important factors of our business — the engagement of our employees, as well as their belief in the company and the direction we are headed in the future.”

The results of the Star Tribune Top Workplaces are based on survey information collected by Energage LLC, an independent company specializing in employee engagement technology. Rankings were composite scores calculated purely on the basis of employee responses.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage, adding “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
Malco is a 100% employee-owned employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) with nearly 75 years of history. Malco previously earned the Star Tribune Top Workplaces award in 2019.
