Finalized last July, the acquisition of the distributor Cora by Carrefour enters a new phase with the gradual transition of the 60 stores under their new brand.

This integration will be carried out in three waves of brand change: a first of 19 stores, which will begin on October 1; a second of 20 stores from mid-October; and finally, a final wave of 21 stores from the end of October.

Codes of the Carrefour group

The changeover will take place during a transition period of approximately two weeks, during which hypermarkets will remain open. Customers will see their store transform to gradually adopt the codes of the Carrefour group. Initially, the brand will be replaced and the offering of Carrefour products on the shelves will be significantly strengthened.

The signage and work outfits will then finalize this change, before a major commercial highlight, which will allow them to celebrate this change of brand (October 25 for the first wave, November 5 for the second wave, and November 19 for the last wave).

Many benefits of Carrefour

Customers will be able to find the teams and concepts that have made their Cora store successful and will discover over the coming months the many benefits that Carrefour offers:

  • Nearly 6,000 Carrefour brand products, voted the favorite distributor brand in France for the 4th consecutive year;
  • A price reduction of at least 10% on more than 3,000 references;
  • Numerous promotions on everyday products;
  • Local and regional products;
  • A Carrefour loyalty program, as well as merchant and financial services from 2025.

Benefit from the many commercial advantages

Julien Munch, Carrefour France Operations Director, stated: "We are very happy to hand over the Carrefour locker room to the 17,000 employees who have joined us and to be able to welcome new customers to our brand. This changeover will take place without store closure, with all the necessary information to guarantee a high-quality purchasing experience."

He adds, "Quickly, this new customer base will be able to benefit from the many commercial advantages that make Carrefour strong throughout France: lower prices, attractive promotional offers and a private label with the best quality/price ratio, popular with consumers."

Carrefour 2026 strategic plan

Switching to the Carrefour brand also means joining a group that aims to make better food accessible to all. Through the Carrefour 2026 strategic plan and the global Act for Food program, the Carrefour Group is committed to a profound transformation of its offering in order to offer more sustainable, organic products that respect animal welfare, as well as to reduce food waste and the use of packaging.

The Competition Authority has decided to grant Carrefour an exemption to complete the acquisition of the companies Cora, Match and Provera on July 1, 2024, without waiting for the end of its competitive analysis. This decision does not prejudge the conclusions of the analysis currently carried out by the Competition Authority and the change of brand is, therefore, of a derogatory nature.
